Full Description:
Sergeant George Thompson of the 63rd Regiment, A deposition before John Potts, Police Magistrate. A letter from Philadelphia relating to a sworn statement outlining an incident concerning the 'Symmetry', a brig, which ran aground on the Delaware near Wilmington, and was discovered by rebels who attacked with cannon fire and captured all onboard. The prisoners were robbed of all possessions and beaten with clubs, with some thrown overboard and drowned. The rest were taken to Lancaster and imprisoned, and two captured Sergeants in possession of a British flag, were to be tried as spies.
