Full Description:
Thomas Wileman,17th Dragoons. Depositions sworn before John Potts. A letter from Philadelphia regarding that when taken prisoner with another, he was stripped of all his clothes and possessions before being marched to Lord Stirling's Quarters where after making a complaint, was told that he were getting the same treatment as handed out to American prisoners. Was then marched to General Washington's Quarters at Valley Forge without food for four days, and then to Lancaster where the bread provided was very bad. While prisoner, read a rebel newspaper which stated a suspicion that British prisoners had started a chimney fire and [American] soldiers using bayonets, had killed eight and wounded eighteen others.
