Full Description:
John Patterson to General Sir William Howe. A letter from the Customs House at Philadelphia, stating that this building had never been removed or closed by parliament, so if the port was still open, all dutiable goods should be charged as normal. It also stated that £40,000 in duties had already been lost to the Crown with goods being allowed to enter New York.
