Johnson to MacKenzie. New York. Refers to previous letters and proposals. Desires him as an old friend to contribute to his obtaining his Excellency's orders that if he approves the going to the northward, he may have the necessary passage for himself and officers, instructions for himself and messages to the Indians. Believes it is in his power to render some services to the government.
