Full Description:
Tonyn to Howe. St Augustine. The report of a rebel invasion gradually subsides. Communicates all intelligence to Prevost. Captain Fanshawe has given every assistance, and has ordered Captain Hordan to protect the province. Lieutenant Ellis and Captain Mobray to scour the inland passage, frustrate the designs of the rebels and hopefully destroy their galleys. Lieutenant-Colonel Brown to penetrate as a corps of observation in the province of Georgia, already taken Fort Barrington. Begs to mention Mr Johnson, a son of Dr Johnson of Georgia, and who first entered the Fort. Major Gardner delivers this letter.
