Full Description:
Lord George Germain to General Sir Henry Clinton. A letter from Whitehall regarding the receipt of dispatches from Colonel Patterson which were presented to the King who was pleased with the content and commends everybody involved. There was also the arrival of the fleets of which one squadron under Admiral Byron had encountered some difficulties with a gale but had some success against the French squadron under the comte d'Estaing.
