Full Description:
General Sir Henry Clinton to [Brigadier-General Maclean]. A letter from Headquarters in New York stating that on their arrival in Halifax, he would take command of troops in Halifax as Brigadier of that province only, and Major-General Massey can return to Europe, if he so desires. Suggests possible strengthening of various points to that work already done, and ensuring that any landing by sea would be secured. Advising of replacements for marines wanted in Europe, and on their arrival, these marines to depart for England.
