Full Description:
Major-General William Phillips to General Sir Henry Clinton. A letter from Cambridge relating to provisions, fuel and transport for Troops of the Convention of Saratoga and of an officer being sent to Canada for the acquisition of clothing and baggage held there belonging to those troops, but it wasn't allowed due to the state of oncoming Winter weather. Warm clothing and necessities required for Winter and hoped a flag of truce could be arranged with Major-General Heath to allow vessels carrying these, would be allowed freely into Boston Harbour. Request submitted for subsistence payments from 25 June to the 24 December estimated at forty to fifty thousand pounds with a copy submitted to the Secretary of War.
