Full Description:
Phillips to Gates. Cambridge. Discusses concern over those who were not able to march to Virginia. Six or eight officers and about 200 men. Impossible to put so many on the cartel ship, part need to go by land. No doubt of their being exchanged, exact returns will be sent. Should they not be exchanged they shall join the troops held in Virginia. Appeals on behalf of two officers to go to Rhode Island attended by a surgeon, they are ill or dying. Should these requests be complied with, the Deputy Quartermaster-General may meet Major Hopkins and regulate matters.
