Full Description:
McLean to Clinton. Halifax. Encloses duplicate letter of 24 October lost in passage on the 'Martha'. A lengthy report discussing many issues including not being able to complete the barracks, the arrival of the Hessians and Orange Rangers, and missing men and how they are surviving. A 'Return of Coal' is enclosed and requests a warrant of £5,000 for works. Also sends a letter from commanding officers of the regular regiments for bat and forage money, a memorial from Mr Jeffries, and an abstract for subsistence from Captain Monk. Urges decision on a case of a man who has suffered long confinement in irons for desertion. Forwards the memorial of Captain McLean, a copy of a letter from Lieutenant Colonel Campbell, and the contractors return of provisions for the troops in this province [of Nova Scotia].
