Full Description:
Clinton to McLean. Headquarters, New York. Discusses numerous issues including the number of assistant engineers and overseers in Halifax may be reduced if necessary, and provisions may be granted to such refugees and poor persons as appear proper objects. Confirms appointment of Captain Boyd to be the Major of the Brigade, Captain McDonnell has leave to dispose of his Company, and 200 days bat and forage money to be allowed to the three regiments who took the field at Halifax. Disapproves of the appointment of purveyor to the hospital, Jeffries to continue to receive 10s per day, and provisions and coal received are very acceptable. The man belonging to the artillery who was tried by a Courts Martial which was not legally constituted, is ordered to be released.
