Full Description:
John Hill, refugee to Rawdon. New York. Memorial. Refers to an enclosed memorial for his character. The reason of his quitting the privateer was his bad state of health, with the bad success that Tryon had. Asks for some civil employment, also that a certain Mr Burling now asks rent for the house he and his wife and daughter were allowed to live in Golden Hill, by order of the mayor, which rent they are not able to pay from their many losses. His only son Rober Hill is a surgeon's mate in a regiment of the Irish Volunteers. Endorsed by Andre, directing Morris to enquire into the situation and if he sees fit to set him down for half a dollar per diem, subject to the Commander-in-Chief's consideration.
