Full Description:
Haldimand to Clinton. Quebec. Letter contains entries for 26, 29 and 31 May 1779. Discusses transport of provisions for the Upper County and Indians deserting to other side due to lack of supplies. On the rebels building vessels and batteaux, their intention of attacking the province, and a deputation who it is believed to carry a copy of Admiral D'Estaing's declaration dated at Boston, 28 October 1778. Insufficiency of effective troops and the difficulties with getting mail through.
