Full Description:
Clarke to Wier. Albermarle, Virginia. Late embarkation from New York has brought only 900 gallons of wine to be divided among 250 officers. Desires him to put in a commission with someone in New York for further provisions for the Convention Army. Encloses a letter of credit for £1,500 sterling to be paid on wine being shipped and insured, and Phillips will write to Clinton desiring this money to be paid. If negotiation for an exchange is going on, it will be best to wait until it is finished.
