Full Description:
Barkley to McLean. The 'Blonde' on the Penobscot River. Sensible that ships remain in the river until the post is erected and certainty of information with regard to the enemy's intentions. Agrees with protection of Nova Scotia, and that information about rebel ships and vessels have been seen steering that way by Mr Fulleton, but from information since received it is believed they are either gone to Boston or Falmouth to collect all their forces together. Thinks it necessary that the Commanders-in-Chief should know the present situation, thinks it expeditious and safe to send dispatches aboard a sloop of war to New York.
