McLean to Clinton. Penobscot River. His Majesty's ships, 'Blonde', 'North', 'Nautilus', 'Albany' and 'Hope' sailed from Halifax and arrived here on the 12 [June]. Discusses situation with regard to reconnoitering the river, executing directions and intelligence on accounts of sightings of enemy vessels off the coast.
