Full Description:
Tonyn to Clinton. St Augustine. Private. Sends dispatches from Campbell at Pensacola. Discusses how the operations of Prevost have not been successful and that the movements of the rebel Lincoln in the back parts of Georgia and South Carolina have been done without opposition (to the destruction of many loyal subjects). Scattering the Indians near Augusta, he prevented them from joining the King's troops on the Savannah River. There are reports of great discontent amongst the officers and a relaxation of discipline. Mr Cameron is presently in the Creek Nation and he has been asked to 'animate' the Indians to a fresh exertion in the army's favour.
