Campbell to Clinton. Pensacola. Discusses how he was obliged to interfere regarding the Indian Department, Captain McIntosh, by order of Colonel Stuart, stretching his credit so far as to be on the eve of being thrown into jail, but has now agreed to the payment of his abstracts on condition of scrutiny by Captain Foster, and Don Galvez, Governor of Louisiana tampering with and endeavouring to seduce th Choctaw Indians in the interests of Spain. Ordering repairs for the Fort at Mobile costing £4,000, the purchase of £1,000 worth of engineers stores, and the arrival of a provision vessel.
