Full Description:
Prevost to Clinton. Savannah. Explains the positions held by the troops British, German and Provincials. Supplies of men for subsistence not having arrived has been obliged to use that for the contingencies. Rebel forces taken position at Sheldon, their army has decreased and the militia will not stay. While General Lincoln has left the area General Scott has arrived with reinforcements (from Virginia or Maryland. Reporting on the arrival of Sir J. Wright to take civil administration. Want of horses and harnesses prevents the plundering parties at a distance. Difficiency of Artillery officers and men. Recommends again the 'rank' [i.e. promotion] of Lieutenant-Colonel Brown to the King's Georgia Rangers, while Indian services not proportionate to the large sums expended.
