Full Description:
Governor Patrick Tonyn, St Augustine to Clinton. Since receiving his letter of 20 October 1778 has written several times to His Excellency. Now confirms that the French fleet is upon this coast. Also reports that the rebels are collecting in Augusta, and that a General Scot has arrived from the north with Continental troops estimated to number 4,000 men. Acquainting the Commanders-in-chief of Jamaica and Antigua of this situation.
