Full Description:
Haldimand to Clinton. Comments on extracts of reports from Lieutenant-Colonel Bolton and Major Butler reporting on the military situation, and the prospects for future operations of British forces in and around Niagara.
Also, an Illuminated (highly decorative) coloured authorisation [in Spanish] by Dom Bernando De Galvez (in the name of His Majesty Carlos III]) at New Orleans, as governor of Spanish Louisiana. Appointing Poucha Houmas of the ‘Teskaatla’ tribe as ‘captain and chief of the southern nation on behalf of the Emperor of Spain and the Indies’. Awarding him a ‘small royal medal of merit, and that the Indians and the people of the province recognise and respect him’.
