Full Description:
Clinton to McLean. Both have been induced to consider the improbability of a rebel attack on Halifax, and have decided not to send forces so late in the season. D'Estaing may attack in the spring. Recommends that his post be prepared in the best defensive state possible and consider withdrawing any outlying posts he thinks may be of least use (e.g. Fort Cumberland).
