Full Description:
Mary Shackerly to Clinton. New York. Petition. That she came off with British troops from Elizabeth Town in February 1777, leaving her house and furniture. That she has kept a school, hiring a house from Mr Walter Franklin for £40 per year. That this year he has obliged her to pay £78 and with other disappointments, she is unable to subsist her family any longer. This is certified by William Franklin, the Governor of New Jersey.
