Full Description:
Elias Holmes, Refugee. New York. Began as a waggoner to the 7th Regiment with his own waggon and horses, but went on to be wounded and imprisoned. After escaping prison he went to New York where he remained. He has lost his all, which had been taken from his wife while he lay in prison. His poor wife and four small childrent sent away almost naked to this city. Certificate signed by Samuel Peeck, Jacobus Peeck, and John Ryckeman, with a recommendation for relief and assistance by Governor William Franklin.
