Full Description:
Lord Cathcart to Clinton. Memorial. The robbery of £447 by a soldier who had been a former servant to the paymasters. Was part of the pay of Captain Hooenden's and Captain James's Troops of Light Dragoons, and of four Companies of Infantry. The Paymaster was honourably acquitted by a General Courts Martial. Asking for financial assistance with the loss, gives example of how previous thefts had been refunded by the Treasury.
