Full Description:
Tonyn to Clinton. St Augustine. Is at a loss to know if the express reached New York with the dispatches acquainting him of the arrival of D'Estaing's fleet. Accounts from West Florida are not favourable. Forwards letters from General Campbell. Awaits with great impatience the reinforcement for the Southern Army as it was ever his notion that the conquest of Carolina would be easily affected. Hopes Clinton will be personally with it.
