Full Description:
Robert Bignel to Clinton. Petition. Discusses his personal circumstances which included him having been a resident in George Town with allegiance to the king. Drafted into the service for nine months, having had to abandon his possessions and property. Bringing his own schooner down the Potomac River to Portsmouth with his family on board, and joining the forces under the command of Gayton. Asks for employment, payment for his vessel or a billet and rations.
