Full Description:
Major-General Agustine Prevost to the Commander-in-Chief, General Sir Henry Clinton, Savannah. Regarding the receipt of Clinton's letter and the information that troops are destined to march on the '4th instant'. Also in compliance with orders through Captain MonCrieffe to the deputy quartermaster general and further to the desire of Brigadier-General Patterson, the remaining part of the field artillery that was left in store for use with the field artillery and all musket cartridges have been taken by Patterson. Notes that this leaves whatever troops left there will be undefensible and in the greatest of danger. Also notes that the Indians are in great dread of the smallpox which at persent rages in all the lower part of this province.
