Full Description:
Andrew Wright. Certificate by Major Small of the 2nd battalion 84th Regiment of the Highlanders that the bearer, Andrew Wright served in the 55th in the late [French and Indian] war. 2608. Petition of Andrew Wright that he served in the 55th was lawfully disharged in 1764 and since lived in Philadelphia until 1779 when he obtained permission to come to New York with his family with a view to return to England. That he was allowed by Major Andrews to draw rations until a passage might be found. That sickness prevented their leaving and his wife having died is left with the care of five children. Begs continuence of the provision.
