Full Description:
Weart Banta to William Tryon, New York. Regarding a Petition. Is a refugee from Hackinsack [Hackensack, New Jersey] and a lieutenant in the King's Militia Volunteers. Was wounded in the knee and rendered a cripple for life. Has a wife and three small children to maintain. Was instrumental in taking several American prisoners and has served as a guide. Asks for rations and such other relief as may seem proper. Counter-signed by Gabriels Van Norden and certified by Govenor Franklin, 2 April.
