Full Description:
Major A S De Peyster, Detroit to Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Brown. Reports that the Canadian, Five Nations, and Michilimakinac Indians are keen to serve the King, having recently defeating Colonel Rogers [Clark] on route from New Orleans to Pittsburg. The Huron Chief 'Sastcrasse', is returned from Niagara with [wampum] belts from the north, to be sent to the southern tribes requesting them not to make peace with the Virginians (untill required to do so by the King of Great Britain). The Cherokees are charged with sending this message southward.
