Full Description:
Prevost, Savannah to Clinton acknowledges receipt of two letters of 24 March. Reports that rebels have carried off several 'negroes' and burnt rice and buildings. The local inhabitants are frightened and concerned about further attacks. It is intended to form a corps of cavalry composed of MacGirt and his people. Although he has received £12,000 for their maintenance he has no troops save the Hessians.
