Full Description:
John Smith, New York to Captain William Spry, Commanding Engineer, Halifax. Receipt of letters dated 28 and 31 January. Those for the Commander-in-Chief were forwarded to him in South Carolina. Cannot therefore send the final warrants desired but as General McLean has been told to call for his [Spry's] accounts, he presumes he will grant a warrant for the balance.
