Full Description:
Campbell to Clinton. Pensacola. Private. Discusses the disagreeable situation they are in a present. The monthly returns are transmitted and Campbell prevails Clinton to order such a reinforcement as he may judge proper for his relief as soon as possible. He is using everthing in his power to defend the works on Gage Hill but needs troops to be able to retaliate against any attack. Otherwise, he asks permission to join the army rather than remain there with such troops as compose his pitiful command, pestered with innumerable difficulties and a multiplicity of perplexing business.
