Full Description:
Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph Goreham to Clinton. Departure from Fort Cumberland delayed several weeks due to heavy snow. Only recently arrived at Halifax. Carried details of alleged crimes committed by Major Batt of the same regiment who was scheduled to face a Court Martial. However, due to the interventions of senior officers, the charges have been dropped and Goreham now faces disgrace. Complains that after five years in America, three at Fort Cumberland, is disappointed at his lack of promotion.
