Full Description:
Germain to Clinton. Whitehall. Number 66. Discussing how he has written to both Clinton and the Vice-Admiral [Mariot Arbuthnot] at the same time and has answered all of Clinton's questions. Reports that he has agreeable intelligence of Clinton's arrival and immediately proceeding to open the campaign in the Jersey's, and believes that [Admiral] Graves has joined Arbuthnot. Captain Andre has been appointed Adjutant General. His Majesty in council is deciding the division of spoil between the army and the navy, the severing of the 'Eastern Colonies' and movements of the rebels.
