Full Description:
James Simpson to Clinton. Charlestown, South Carolina. Report which mentions that Mr [Henry] Laurens [American Congressional prisoner in the Tower of London] 'has not long since with great confidence asserted that in a very few months, Americas would be abandoned by the British troops and left to her independency'. Captain Lutwitche is unable to fully inform His Excellency of the business in which he is engaged, but promises an official account if the 'Trinton' is delayed.
