Full Description:
McLean to Clinton. Halifax. Private. Intelligence of French armament coming ton this coast has engrossed all attention. No pains have been spared to put the place in defence, but for any tolerable protection, either to the town or the dockyard, new works will be necessary. The smallest appearance of an attack in the spring would oblige him to set about them immediately. Although there is a great want of powder, provisions and other articles are pretty ample.
