Full Description:
Clinton to Washington. Concerning the King's Adjutant General in America who is being kept under Major-General Arnold's passports and is detained a prisoner in Washington's army. Clinton says that he permitted André to go at the request of Arnold. Has enclosed a paper that shows a flag of truce and passports for his return were sent. Has no doubt that Washington will immediately direct that this officer has permission to return to New York.
