Clinton to Washington. New York. Regarding Major André, there had been a meeting between Robertson and [Nathanael] Green, however it had not produced any alteration in Washington's opinion. Illustrates that he does not believe Major to be a spy, he was merely a messenger following orders. Trusts for a speedy release of André, offers names of [American] officers held prisoner in return.
