Full Description:
Thomas Desbrisay and the Commander-in-Chief of the island of St John, to Clinton. Refers to a letter of 23 September, inclosing his memorial offering to raise at his own expense, a battalion of 300 or 400 men. Proposes to make it 500 men if he approves. If not, he desires to be appointed Lieutenant-Colonel Commandant of Hierihy's Independant Company, and will engage to raise and form them into a corps. If neither proposal acceptable, offers to command an independant company raised by Mr Callbeck.
