Full Description:
Clinton to Washington. New York. Discusses the report mentioned that a number of persons under the capitulation of Charlestown had entered into a plot for the destruction of the place where they were protected. The officer commanding there having found it necessary to interfere. There has been no official report but Clinton cannot entertain the least apprehension that Cornwallis would stain the lustre of the Kings arms by acts of cruelty.
