Full Description:
Governor Walter Patterson to McLean. Halifax. Discusses regarding the defence of the island of Saint John [Prince Edward Island], the state of the garrison, of the fortifications and of the public buildings. Encloses an account of the expense of the garrison as it stands, together with an estimate of what it will cost to complete the fortifications and barracks. Also encloses an estimate of the expense for attending to the making of the roads proposed, and lastly a calculation of what the company of St John's Volunteers would annually cost the government if completed to the number of 100 men.
