Full Description:
Clinton to Haldimand. New York. Number 24. Concerned for the miscarriage of the Quebec Fleet, the greatest part of which has been taken by the French and [the American] rebels. Ternay's fleet blocked up at Rhode Island, with Rodney's presence the rebels have not attempted upon this place, and the English fleet with recruits and stores have arrived, but the Cork fleet have not. Also on the expedition of 3,000 men under Leslie, and an accommodation with Spain. The second letter written 9 November mentions the attempt against Canada, the carriage of armaments and the supply of provisions.
