Full Description:
Clinton to Campbell. New York. Receipt of dispatches. Discusses numerous subjects, including the allowance of bat and forage money, withholding consent to the union of the Pennsylvania and Maryland Loyalists, and Lieutenant Gordon bringing clothing for the Provincial corps. Suggests application for Deputy Paymaster to the troops in West Florida, and thanks Captain Heldring. Concerned at the weakness of the garrison, and happy that Galvez has returned to New Orleans. Hopes that Sir Peter Parker has sent a naval force to Pensacola, and comments on the neccessity of keeping the Indians in 'good humour'. Encloses copies of intercepted Spanish dispatches and lists of prisoners tried by courts martial. Also two execution warrants.
