Full Description:
Governor Thomas Chittenden to Clinton. In Council, Arlington, State of Vermont. Encloses a copy of his letter to Congress of 25 July last, and a full examination of the controversy between the state of New York and this state. Asking that New York gives up, or relinquishes its jurisdiction over Vermont. Also that they join in a solid union with their state for mutual defence against the British forces which invade the American states. Colonel [Ethan] Allen who delivers the message, awaits an answer.
