Full Description:
Germain to Clinton enclosing a circular to governors expressing official disappointment at the failure of Colonel Ferguson's efforts [at King's Mountain] and the consequences for British efforts in the Carolinas [after the latter's defeat at the hands of the Patriot militia]. As a result General Leslie had to quit Chesapeake Bay. Seemingly, failure to destroy rebel stores is particulalrly irksome to London.
