Full Description:
Lord Cornwallis to Lord Rawdon. A letter from Salisbury about an action with passage of the Catawba [South Crolina]. The Guards behaved gallantly after emerging from the river and forming. General Davidson was killed and his [Loyalist] militia routed. Tarleton attacked a body of [patriot] militia under [Andrew] Pickens, killing several, and capturing some prisoners. A rebel report of the garrison at George Town being surprised turned out to be false.
