Full Description:
Lieutenant-Colonel John Campbell to Clinton. A letter from Fort George in Penobscot stating that a letter received from the Duke of Argyle relating to Captain Alexander Campbell recovered from illness and was fit to resume duty. A party of King's Rangers, under the command of Lieutenant Stockton, landed near the Georges River and marched to Thomastown, then attacked a house containing the rebel Brigadier-General Wadsworth, who was taken prisoner along with six of his men, for the cost of three wounded, one of which died. Proposed a promotion to fill an untaken lieutenancy, and that of an ensign. Inhabitants of the county persuading the soldiery to desert so request that the regiment be relieved duty in area.
