Full Description:
Governor George Bruere Clinton. A letter from Bermuda Government House stating that the Assembly had refused to honour the accounts of Lieutenant Stuart, employed as the acting engineer, working on the fortifications at Fort Clinton. Major Sutherland had been paid but Stuart had been refused, which would cause great hardship for him and his family. Major Sutherland's conduct hurt the garrison with many difficulties still arising from it. Equipment and materials still required to continue service to prevent enemy landings. Request any outstanding accounts be liquidated to progress.
